What To Wear | Choosing Your Outfit For Your Portrait Session

When preparing for your photo shoot, it's important to keep in mind what you're going to wear. When you're comfortable you tend to feel confident and when you feel confident, you look confident. That confidence will be conveyed in your images! Whatever you decide to wear, make sure it's a reflection of who you are and that you feel comfortable in your attire.

Choosing flattering silhouettes and colors that complement your features is the best way to ensure you’ll love the way you look in your photos. Stay away from solid black and/or white outfits, they can make your skin tone look washed out on camera. When choosing colors for your outfits, I recommend selecting soft colors and more natural muted shades that compliment your hair and skin tone. Try to stay away from fabrics that are prone to wrinkles or tend to cling to you in unflattering ways. The wrinkles are easily picked up by the camera. Accessories can be your best friend! Properly accessorizing your outfit(s) can give your images a special touch, but don't go overboard. A cute jacket or hat, scarf or jewelry works very well in adding that finishing touch to your outfit.

Quick Tip: Bring a pair of easy-to-kick-off flats to wear when moving from place to place in between photos. Your feet will thank you later!
